UPDATE: Obviously we hit a nerve with CNN because they forced YouTube to pull the video down, along with all of the comments people posted. Some other YouTuber (who we do not know and are not affiliated with) grabbed the clip before YouTube yanked it. That clip is embedded below.

At today's Tea Party protest in Chicago, CNN's Susan Roesgen found herself in some hot water with an angry crowd when she became belligerent with a protester.

CNN shut the segment down quickly, with a few editorial insults toward the Tea Partiers thrown in for good measure.

"I think you get the general tenor of this. It's anti-government, anti-CNN since this is highly promoted by the right-wing conservative network Fox."

Founding Bloggers was on the scene, and we have footage of the schooling Susan Roesgen received from angry attendees after she signed off.

The U.S. House of Representatives has approved a plan to set up a new "volunteer corps" and consider whether "a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people" should be developed.

The legislation also refers to "uniforms" that would be worn by the "volunteers" and the "need" for a "public service academy, a 4-year institution" to "focus on training" future "public sector leaders." The training, apparently, would occur at "campuses."  - WND

This is unacceptable. My wife and I have already discussed this and there is no way we will cooperate and turn over our children for indoctrination by the state. This is really an attempt for the state to get their hands on the millions of children who are (wisely) home schooled or sent to private schools and an attempt by progressives to further the concept of the de facto one party state. The parents of these children have already managed to bypass the open ideological indoctrination of multiculturalism, diversity, tolerance and inclusiveness that already nearly completely permeates the public education system from kindergarten through graduate school. We are not servants to the state and mandatory service to the state is not "volunteerism" no matter how much you want to sugar coat it. I'm disgusted and appalled by the whole concept and it is a widening stain on the concepts of freedom and liberty. 

 

 For the first time in a long time I was actually livid the other night after reading and researching this planned move into mandatory "volunteerism". It is little more than the Progressive version of the Young Pioneers complete with uniforms and four year academies. Those who capture the youth know that by doing so one will successfully capture the nation. We are not far from seeing them succeed in that goal.

Enough is enough. It is time to take a stand and I've decided this is where I draw the line, legalities be damned. I absolutely refuse to hand over my flesh and blood to the minions of a destructive society that insists on calling evil good and good evil while propagating political philosophies and twisted values which are so abhorrent to me. I am a free citizen and I will decide if, when and who I will "volunteer" to help in the name of charity and no one will be slapping a uniform on my children and teaching a secularist, "progressive", and humanistic world view to a captive audience that includes my offspring. They have their ACORN legions. Leave my children and I alone.

According to WorldNetDaily, Mr. Fitzpatrick was visited by the Secret Service after filing his complaint. After it was determined Fitzpatrick did not pose a threat to the president, the Secret Service left. "Officials with the Knoxville office of the Secret Service told WND the only person who could release information to the media was on vacation and they would not comment on the issue," Bob Unruh wrote for WND on March 25.

On March 24, the Supreme Court and the U.S. Justice Department confirmed receipt of documentation challenging Barack Obama's eligibility to be president.

On December 8, 2008, the Supreme Court turned down an emergency appeal from Leo Donofrio of East Brunswick, N.J., to intervene in the presidential election. Judge R. Barclay Surrick dismissed the case on October 24, 2008. Surrick concluded that ordinary citizens can't sue to ensure that a presidential candidate actually meets the constitutional requirements of the office, WND reported at the time.

Surrick deferred to Congress and said the legislature must determine if "citizens, voters, or party members should police the Constitution's eligibility requirements for the Presidency."

Fascism emanating from the Obama White House- Glenn Beck

There is a whiff of Fascism emanating from the Obama White House.
 
Reports say that the head of GM is quitting under duress from the Obama administration: 
General Motors chairman and chief executive G. Richard Wagoner is resigning at the request of the White House, clearing the way for the Obama administration to offer the company more federal aid.
 
On Monday, President Obama  unveiled his plan to prop up General Motors and Chrysler, offering them more money if the companies agree to shrink and refocus their businesses.
 
Wagoner's resignation was one of the White House conditions for more federal aid. "He agreed and will do that," a senior administration official said Sunday evening.
Wagoner, 56, joined the company in 1977 and has been chairman and chief executive since 2003. 
 
Although there have been some incidents of government exercising minor control over industry during wartime, this aggressive assault on American capitalism is unprecedented and should give all Americans who care about freedom pause.
 
Strict government control over businesses is the essence of Fascism, or more precisely, Mussolini-style corporatism. As Mussolini said, "Fascism should more appropriately be called corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power." Corporatism boils down to this: government tells industry (and labor) what to do and they do it for the supposed good of the country.
 
For the president of the United States to be able to, effectively, fire the head of a major corporation is not a road America has ever headed down before.
 
ADDENDUM the next day: A commenter below brings up the issue of AIG. This is a fair point to raise. I regret for several months last year my research was focused on ACORN, the Community Reinvestment Act, Goldman Sachs, and a few other topics.
Preoccupied, I failed to comment on the reported firing of AIG's Robert Willumstad by then-Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson. But I began railing against the Bush administration's corporatist policies.
 
 That said, the Obama administration has done much more to move America toward corporatism than Bush ever did. Bush began driving America down the road to Fascism, but Obama, with the Wagoner purge and other events, put the pedal to the metal. America is not there yet but it is progressing there.

Obama Recovering After Closed Captioning 'Mishap'

Bethesda, Md. -- Doctors were said to be treating President Barack Obama at Bethesda Naval Hospital today for exhaustion and possible vocal cord injuries after a freak television accident occurred at the White House Tuesday evening.


According to a statement read by White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, President Obama, noted for his near total dependence on the teleprompter when speaking, was leaving a practice session for an upcoming press conference when he happened upon a muted television set near the White House Briefing Room on which someone had activated the "closed captioning" function.

"Apparently, Mr. Obama mistook the captioning for his new flat screen teleprompter and began reading the text aloud," Gibbs said. Gibbs stated that "what followed was a tragic marathon speaking session that lasted for nearly 14 hours before staff discovered Obama and disconnected the device."

The President's accidental filibuster was said to have included a 2-hour episode of "The Biggest Loser," a much anticipated "Law and Order: Special Victim's Unit," the local evening news, and a late night paid infomercial for "natural male enhancement." The press later described Obama's reading of the captioning as "eloquent" (New York Times), "historic" (CNN), and "emotionally moving" (Newsweek).

This event comes on the heels of several embarrassing teleprompter gaffes by Obama, including one in which he thanked himself for being invited to the United States when he accidentally read the teleprompter text intended for the visiting Prime Minister of Ireland on St. Patrick's Day, his repeated mispronunciation of the written word "Orion" at an event for Orion Energy in Milwaukee (staff had apparently neglected to spell it phonetically on his teleprompter), a little reported campaign event in which Obama's thoughts disappeared with his flickering teleprompter image, and a news conference in which Obama responded to complaints about his addiction to the teleprompter blocking the view of photographers by having a giant flat screen TV installed on the back wall and reading his thoughts from that.

When asked for an explanation of how such an event could occur to the President of the United States, Gibbs responded, "That's a good question. We're investigating now. How anyone could leave the closed captioning on like that is just inexplicable. The White House staff should know better by now."

A source at Bethesda Naval Hospital, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the President was doing fine, but was "quite hoarse" and getting some much needed rest ever since doctors turned the screen on his heart monitor around so that he couldn't read it anymore. "Before that he just kept saying 'Heart rate 98, Heart rate 97, Heart rate 98...'" the source said, adding, "It was kind of weird, but since we removed that he's been OK. Although I'd hate to see what would happen to this guy if someone accidentally left him alone in the room with the crawler on the Fox News Channel."

Another source at the hospital commented that Obama's dependence on the teleprompter was predictable given his earlier self-admitted addiction to his Blackberry, or "Crackberry," as it is popularly known. "Those Blackberrys are like a gateway drug," the source said. He added, "First you're getting your jokes and ideas from that apparently harmless little toy, and the next thing you know, you can't even speak like an adult unless someone feeds you your thoughts word for word on a giant television monitor hung right in front of your face. It's sad -- just sad."

Report: Senate Bill Would Create Powerful 'Cybersecurity Czar'

Two powerful senators want to centralize federal cybersecurity under a White House-appointed "czar" who'd oversee not only all government networks, including military ones, but also private networks deemed crucial to national security, the Washington Post reported Wednesday.

The bill being crafted by Sens. Olympia Snowe, D-Maine and Jay Rockefeller, D-W.Va., would also create new regulations and standards for private networks related to infrastructure, such as rail, water and power systems.

"People say this is a military or intelligence concern, but it's a lot more than that," Rockefeller told the Post. "It suddenly gets into the realm of traffic lights and rail networks and water and electricity."

The cybersecurity czar -- officially the National Cybersecurity Adviser -- would be so powerful he or she could shut down entire networks, even private ones, in the event of a cyberattack.

The Post reports the legislation was written with White House input, and may be introduced in the Senate as early as Wednesday.

One private industry advocate told the Post he feared the bill would stifle innovation and flexibility, noting that mandatory standards had until now been the "third rail of cybersecurity policy."

The message from Israel's new prime minister is stark: if the Obama administration doesn't prevent Tehran from developing nuclear weapons, Israel may be forced to attack.

In an interview conducted shortly before he was sworn in today as prime minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu laid down a challenge for Barack Obama. The American president, he said, must stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons--and quickly--or an imperiled Israel may be forced to attack Iran's nuclear facilities itself.

"The Obama presidency has two great missions: fixing the economy, and preventing Iran from gaining nuclear weapons," Netanyahu told me. He said the Iranian nuclear challenge represents a "hinge of history" and added that "Western civilization" will have failed if Iran is allowed to develop nuclear weapons.

In unusually blunt language, Netanyahu said of the Iranian leadership, "You don't want a messianic apocalyptic cult controlling atomic bombs. When the wide-eyed believer gets hold of the reins of power and the weapons of mass death, then the entire world should start worrying, and that is what is happening in Iran."

History teaches Jews that threats against their collective existence should be taken seriously, and, if possible, preempted, he suggested. In recent years, the Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has regularly called for Israel to be "wiped off the map," and the supreme Iranian leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, this month called Israel a "cancerous tumor."
